VOLUNTEERING ON THE V-UNIT

One of the best ways to make new friends and strengthen existing relationships is to commit to a shared activity together. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, especially if you are new to a church, and to grow in spiritual formation.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry as each one plays a vital role in creating an experience that connects adults and children to Christ. God gave each of us special gifts (1 Peter 4:10), and as we use them to serve others, He delights in our labor of love; in fact, we’re closest to the character of Christ when we're serving God by serving others.

At Victory, you're not just a volunteer, but a highly valued character in a great story God is telling through His Church; it's the story of redemption and God working through ordinary people to accomplish an extraordinary task. From our experience, we have seen how this one step of faith to serve has radically transformed lives and led people to have a greater sense of belonging and purpose.

DON'T SIT OUT ANOTHER WEEK! Stop by the G-Station this Sunday with a CONNECT CARD and sign up to join one of our amazing V-Unit teams! It's a decision that may change your life. Together, we rise and build. Be a part of TEAM GREEN!

The body is a UNIT, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12)

NEED MORE INFORMATION?...Here's some good stuff to consider!

The Scriptures tells us that the early Church met not only in the temple courts, but also in their homes forming small groups. The Church grew daily and was strengthened by each other through regular communal gatherings (Acts 2:42-47).

Small groups provide an environment for individuals of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity to meet regularly in a specified location to enjoy fellowship with other people, break bread, pray, discuss biblical teachings, meet each other's needs, and most importantly…GROW. Small groups provide people with an opportunity to connect meaningfully with others, maintain those deep connections and live in community, an important social building block of all societies.

Through small groups, individuals are able to love and honor each other in biblical community, God's design for optimal spiritual growth. Our small groups gather weekly for two semesters during the year with a summer break from June - July and winter break from November - December.

For biblical teaching on the dynamic of small groups, listen to "iGATHER", a powerful message from Pastor Philip on the impact of community and the original design of the Church.

V-GROUPS exists to multiply disciples through Christ-centered communities.

Culture

Jesus. People. Love...it's real

Culture

Jesus. People. Love...it's real

Every church has a culture, whether they're intentional about creating one or not. At Victory, we strive to create a culture that fosters a deep love for Jesus and a deep love for people. It all begins with Pastor Philip's burden to see a growing covenant family of believers live out the "one another" commands of the New Testament that binds us together in times of peace & joy and times of conflict & sorrow. And while we are able to be honest about those things that warrant our development, we're humbled to testify that Victory is a healthy growing body of passionate Christ-followers where authenticity and love for Jesus and people is indelibly felt.

From the very beginning of our church, Pastor Philip has been very strategic in taking steps to realize a healthy culture at Victory, one marked by these virtues:

FAITH - We believe! We believe everything God has set forth in the Scriptures from cover to cover and we believe in exercising faith in every circumstance, no matter what. We believe in “the faith” that has been handed down to us. We are unashamed to declare it boldly, we will uphold faith in the face of adversity and contend for it unapologetically.

HOPE - We have an expectation to see God’s goodness upon our church and we want to believe in people and never give up on them. We want to be a people that spreads hope and encouragement to those in need.

EXCELLENCE - Pastor Philip has a deep disdain for mediocrity. We would rather do a few things with excellence than a lot of things with mediocrity. We believe that the Church of Jesus should do everything with excellence as unto our Lord.

GENEROSITY - When we see people responding to the Gospel, lives being transformed, marriages being restored, relationships being established, families and children being impacted, outreach being done in our city and hear hundreds of stories of real life-change, we understand that none of this would be possible without the generosity of our church. We want to lead the way in modeling generosity as we work together to spread the Gospel across our city.

HONOR - Pastor Philip teaches that honor is a demonstration of respect & love and that honor should flow in all directions of the cross. We should honor people above us in stature and authority. We should honor people across from us who are among our peers. We should honor people below us; those we may lead or have influence over them in some capacity. We want to be a people of honor. And we want honor to be poured out in our relationship with Jesus and with each other.

We love the Gospel-centered culture Jesus is building at Victory and we invite you to experience our culture and be a part.

Covenant Community

a family of purpose

Covenant Community

a family of purpose

The covenant creates an unmatched sense of of commitment not found in any other form of relationship. Imagine the strength and unity of a church united around the Person and work of Jesus and the Great Commission in the context of covenant community, totally committed to each other in good times and times of sorrow for the express purpose of spiritual formation, mutual dependency and working together for the spread of the Gospel. Now that's powerful! This is what we're building and experiencing at Victory...a growing covenant community of purpose.

If you're new to Victory or have been attending for a while, we invite you to be a more committed part of our covenant family by serving on a volunteer team, joining a V-Group (small group) and attending other Victory related gatherings. Live in community. Love the community. Be gracious to the community (yes, we do at times offend each other.) Be immersed in the community and enjoy the blessings of covenantal living.

We are the Ecclesia of Jesus, filled with people in process, NOT perfection.
